University of Toledo Medical Center Opens Orthopedic Unit

The University of Toledo (Ohio) Medical Center has opened the new UT Mobility Disorders, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Inpatient Center, which will bring all aspects of orthopedic and rehabilitation care together in a single area of the hospital, according to a report in the Toledo Blade.

The new department, located in a space formerly occupied by geriatric psychiatric services, received $600,000 in upgrades, according to the report. It includes 30 patient beds, a family room and a conference room.

The center is designed to treat and rehabilitate patients recovering from multiple trauma injuries or extensive procedures like total hip replacement, according to the report.
