University of Rochester Receives $2M Donation for Orthopedic, Geriatric Fracture Care Research

The University of Rochester (N.Y.) has received a $2 million donation from Swiss entrepreneur and philanthropist Hansjörg Wyss earmarked for geriatric fracture care research.

The donation has established the Hansjörg Wyss Professorship in Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

Stephen Kates, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, will lead the research funded by the donation.

 

Dr. Kates practices at the Center for Musculoskeletal Research at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
