Here’s what you should know.
1. The field house will be both research- and practice-based.
2. The center will be open to the public surrounding it.
3. The project is part of a $155 million renovation of the center as the University of Maryland converts it into a football and academic complex.
4. Founder and CEO of Under Armour and former Maryland football player Kevin Plank personally donated $25 million to the projects.
5. The sports medicine center could open in 2018. An indoor practice field, the first part of the renovation, will open in late spring.
