Four things to know:
1. The newly formed KTH is a collaboration between KU Athletics, The University of Kansas Health System and Lawrence Memorial Hospital Health.
2. The collaboration hopes to eliminate conflicts of interest that sometimes exist due to college athletics medical professionals reporting to both coaches and athletic directors.
3. KU’s 40-member medical staff will be employees of KU Health System while fully reporting to medical professionals.
4. Hiring and firing of medical personnel will now be a collaborative effort between KU Athletics and the KU Health System.
