New Hanover Regional Medical Center Orthopedic Hospital in Wilmington, N.C., announced that it has been recognized as a Total Joint Replacement Specialty Center by UnitedHealth Premium.

To receive this designation the hospital met quality and outcomes criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards.

UnitedHealthcare, an operating division of UnitedHealth Group, a health carrier, developed the specialty center program to recognize hospitals meeting rigorous quality criteria.
