UCSF, Intamsys partner to develop 3D-printed PEEK implants — 3 insights

UC San Francisco will partner with 3D printer manufacturer Intamsys to develop PEEK implants for orthopedic surgery, 3ders.org reports.

Here are three things to know:

1. Edge Labs, a research division within the UCSF orthopedic surgery department, will use Intamsys’ Funmat HT 3D printer for the initiative.

2. UCSF researchers Aenor Sawyer, MD, Alexis Dang, MD, and Alan Dang, MD, will lead the initiative.

3. Intamsys is a leading supplier of PEEK, a high-performance fused deposition modeling filament.
