Dr. Nicandri specializes in sports medicine and shoulder, elbow and knee disorders and will begin as an assistant professor of orthopedics mid-August. Dr. Tyler, who will also serve as an assistant professor of orthopedics, specializes in bone oncology and adult reconstruction and will begin Sept. 1.
The URMC department of orthopedics is one of the busiest musculoskeletal services in the United States and manages approximately 160,000 patient visits per year. With the addition of the two new physicians, the department will employ 40 faculty members.
