The new joint venture, called Crystal Clinic Orthopedic Center, will act as a “hospital within a hospital” and house the merged inpatient, outpatient and physician practices.

Construction on a $100 million stand-alone facility was delayed due to rising interest rates but is expected to begin again once financial markets open back up, according to the report. The center is being temporarily housed at Summa’s St. Thomas Hospital. Outpatient procedures will be offered at Crystal Clinic’s locations in Akron, Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, Kent, Medina, Montrose and Stow.
