Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine creates professional athlete care team — 4 key notes

New Orleans-based Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine created the professional athlete care team to help meet former athletes’ needs.

Here’s what you should know.

 

1. The care team will see patients out of the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.

 

2. Tulane’s Chief of Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation Greg Stewart, MD, will head the professional athlete care team.

 

3. The team will utilize athletic trainers in a care coordinator role.

 

4. Tulane Medical Center invested $1.1 million into the PACT clinic to modify a space to look like an existing field house. The 5,000-square-foot facility includes exam rooms, a meeting space, rehabilitation equipment and new digital X-rays.
