Tucson Orthopaedic Institute Hand Surgeon Dies Unexpectedly

Tucson Orthopaedic Institute hand surgeon Douglas Wegner, MD, recently died after suffering a heart attack while running with his son in Sabino Canyon, according to a report from the Arizona Daily Star.

Dr. Wegner earned his medical degree at Brown University and completed his residency in orthopedics at Yale University. His additional training included a fellowship in hand surgery at Indiana Hand Center.
