Shellie Austin, Elizabeth Hall and Gail Letizia claimed they suffered permanent respiratory damage from inhaling harmful gases omitted from X-ray equipment in unventilated areas at the orthopedic office.
The women also claimed that although A. Walsh installed a pipe to ventilate the X-ray machine after the three women became ill, the imaging company installed a perforated pipe that allowed the harmful chemicals to continue to leak out for months.
A jury awarded each woman $942,000 following a four-day trial, according to the report.
