Mr. Martin had previously undergone microfracture surgery in both knees. For the injection, David Karli, MD, removed Mr. Martin’s blood, spun it in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the platelets and injected the PRP back into the tendon to stimulate tissue recovery.
