According to the GBI report, the rate of chronic disease is expected to rise significantly in the next few decades. By 2030, the global diabetes population is expected to hit 552 million and cardiovascular disease is projected to cause the deaths of 25 million people globally each year.
The report said the increase in prevalence of chronic diseases, along with the expected physician shortages, creates a clear need for remote patient monitoring.
