CyberKnife is usually used to treat cancer, but Kevin Yiee, MD, of Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb., says it can be used as a less-invasive treatment for trigeminal neuralgia. The treatment takes 45 minutes and has few side effects. Most patients find relief from pain although it can return as the blood vessels aggravate the nerve.
