In this new position, Dr. Comer will be responsible for guiding Synergy’s clinical programs. Her appointment becomes effective May 14.

Jacob, PhD, president and CEO of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, in the release. “Dr. Comer has an extremely strong medical and academic background, along with extensive industry experience in clinical research.”
Dr. Comer is a board-certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist. She has more than 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having spent seven years at Abbott Laboratories, six years at Wyeth Research and most recently serving as senior director of the biotherapeutics research unit at Pfizer.
