The report showed more than two-thirds of patients think physicians are overly influenced by pharmaceutical companies. Around 50 percent said physicians are too eager to prescribe drugs rather than consider other treatment options.
Patients also complained physicians don’t consider their ability to pay when prescribing a drug, with 51 percent feeling the expense isn’t considered.
The researchers surveyed 2,022 adults and narrowed survey results to consider the 1,154 who currently take prescription drugs.
