Surgeons perform 1st procedures with Spinal Elements’ Lucent XP implant: 4 highlights

Surgeons performed the first procedures using Carlsbad, Calif.-based Spinal Elements’ Lucent XP expandable interbody implant.

Here are four highlights:

 

1. The Lucent XP is designed to expand in height as well as increase in lordotic angle once implanted.

 

2. The implant allows surgeons to achieve up to 15 degrees of lordotic angle, to help restore the patient’s sagittal balance.

 

3. Composed of PEEK, the Lucent XP is coated with Spinal Elements’ Ti-Bond porous titanium coating.

 

4. Spinal Elements plans to more extensively launch the Lucent XP in summer 2017.
