Supreme Court Refuses Case on Patient Consent for Medical Record Disclosure

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused an appeal of a Maryland court decision on patients’ consent for releasing medical records, according to a Christian Science Monitor report.

The case involved a Maryland law that allows an oversight board to require physicians to immediately turn over certain medical files regardless of patient consent or face fines and other disciplinary action.
