Researchers examined 81 patients who underwent arthroscopic meniscal repair and follow-up clinical assessments. Each patient also underwent a second-look arthroscopy and a postoperative MRI.
The second-look arthroscopy confirmed 77 completely healed menisci with a total healing rate of 86.5 percent. Clinical assessment found 63 menisci healed with a 70.8 percent clinical healing rate.
