Researchers examined 22 professional male athletes who received surgical hip dislocation. At the two-year follow-up, 21 of the patients were still competing professionally, with 19 of them at their previous level. Eighteen of the players were satisfied with their hip surgery.

The athletes reported an average activity level of 9.8 on the UCLA scale and 7.6 on the Hip Sports Activity Scale. Pain levels during sports were recorded as 1.8 on the visual analogue scale.
