The researchers examined data from residents of Olmsted County, Minn., and found that of the 3,410 potential patients, 1,115 had a fibromyalgia diagnosis. However, 6.4 percent of the general population in the county met the fibromyalgia research survey criteria.
The study was published in Arthritis Care & Research.
