Researchers examined 749 non-obese patients and 486 obese patients who underwent surgical and non-surgical treatment. At the four-year follow-up, there was no difference in surgical complication or re-operation rate between both groups of patients with lumbar stenosis. Obese patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis experienced higher postoperative infection rate and twice re-operation rate than non-obese patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis after four years.
