Researchers gave 79 patients with at least one month of pain a 40 mg dose of triamcinolone acetonide, a 20 mg dose or a placebo injection. The two groups given corticosteroids reported improvement, but no difference was found. The group given the placebo reported no improvement The study is set to be published in the December issue of the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
