Jennifer Weiss, MD, a physician with Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, released a study examining 27 young patients undergoing MPFL reconstructions. A single physician performed 29 knee operations over a three-year period in 13 females and 14 males.
After a seven-month follow-up, researchers found that most patients received good short-term results. Patients who experienced a failed surgery were found to have comorbidities.
