Study Examines Risk Factors for Revision Hip Surgery in Medicare Patients

A new study published in Arthritis Care & Research of the American College of Rheumatology found that younger, taller and heavier patients are more likely to need revision hip surgery, according to a Drug Watch report.

The study examines Medicare patients from 29 states over a 10 year period. When patients received a cemented femoral component, they were more likely to need a revision if they were 75 years or younger, taller or heavier.
