Researchers analyzed data from 41 studies on pain in children since 1991. They found chronic pain conditions are more common in girls than boys and increase with age. They also found 23 percent of children aged 7-18 reported weekly headaches, and 5 percent reported daily headaches. Abdominal and back pain were common as well. Recurrent abdominal pain was reported by 12 percent, and back pain was reported by 21 percent.
