Researchers examined 31 adolescent patients who underwent ACI or matrix-assisted chondrocyte implantation. The patients reported a mean pain score improvement from five to one and a Bentley Functional Rating Score improvement from three to zero. Approximately 84 percent of the patients reported achieving excellent or good results.
There was one patient who reported a graft failure and one who underwent graft hypertrophy.
