Stryker Acquires Software Company, Buys Assets for Aspirator System

Stryker has acquired OtisMed, a software technology company, and plans to buy assets for operating the Sonopet Ultrasonic Aspirator from Japan’s Mutoh Co. and Synergetics USA, according to a release from Stryker.

The Sonopet deal is worth $67 million in upfront payments to the company as well as potential future milestone and royalty payments of up to an additional $36 million.

OtisMed will become part of Stryker’s Orthopaedics division but will still be based in Alameda, Calif.
