His practice is concentrated on the surgical treatment of spinal disorders, including cervical, thoracic and lumbar disease. He treats complex spinal problems including disc disease, instability, issues related to arthritis, trauma and tumors. He also performs revision procedures for failed back surgery.
A large part of his spine practice is devoted to the minimally invasive surgical treatment of spinal disorders. Dr. Nichols is experienced in minimally invasive lumbar fusion including XLIF, OLLIF and ILLIF. Appropriate surgical candidates can generally expect to experience a more rapid recovery compared to traditional fusion procedures.
