Steven C. Poletti, MD (Southeastern Spine Institute, Charleston, S.C.).
Dr. Poletti has been with Southeastern Spine Institute for more than 20 years and helped founder Donald R. Johnson, MD, recruit 16 new physicians. He has been president of the South Carolina Spine Society and South Carolina Orthopedic Association. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Poletti was among the first to perform microendoscopic discectomy and artificial disc replacement in the state of South Carolina. He also collaborated with Dr. Johnson to develop the minimally invasive Globus Percutaneous spine fixation system.
Dr. Poletti earned his medical degree at the University of California Medical School and completed his residency in general, thoracic and orthopedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship under David Selby, MD.
