Stephen Courtney, MD (Plano Orthopedic Medicine & Spine Center, Plano, Texas). Dr. Courtney founded the spine division at Plano Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Spine Center. He has practiced medicine in Plano since 1995 and co-founded Eminent Spine, a unique device company with a variety of spinal products.
He previously served as chief of orthopedic surgery at the Medical Center of Plano and was a member of the hospital’s executive and operating room committee. Throughout his career, Dr. Courtney has traveled around the country training other physicians to use Eminent Spine products. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Texas Spine Society.
Dr. Courtney earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Medical School and completed his residency at Texas A&M University Medical Center. His additional training includes a fellowship at the Florida Neck and Back Institute in Gainesville.
