William H. B. Howard, MD, a sports medicine specialist, passed away at the age of 81, according to a report by The Baltimore Sun.

1. Dr. Howard is a long-time medical director and co-founder of MedStar Union Memorial Hospital’s Sports Medicine Clinic in Baltimore.

 

2. He was also the medical adviser to the Gilman School athletic teams.

 

3. He completed his residency in general surgery and orthopedics at Harrisburg (Pa.) Hospital.
