Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Mark Chassay Takes on Healthcare Policy Role in Texas

Mark Chassay, MD, a sports medicine physician, was recently named Deputy Executive Commissioner in the office of Health Policy and Clinical Services for the Health and Human Services Commission in Texas, according to a Texas Longhorns report.

Dr. Chassay is a former head team physician for the University of Texas athletics. In his new role, Dr. Chassay will integrate all healthcare policy under a “more universal umbrella in the state,” according to the report. He will continue serving as assistant team physician for UT and provide coverage at some live events.
