Spine industry alum Erik Wagner named interim CEO of Ortho Kinematics: 4 insights

Spinal imaging company Ortho Kinematics named Erik Wagner as interim CEO.

Here are four things to know.

1. Former CEO Paul Gunnoe left Ortho Kinematics in March to become the president and CEO of Austin, Texas-based Primero Med. Mr. Gunnoe will still serve as a consultant to Ortho Kinematics.

2. Ortho Kinematics pioneered vertebral motion analysis, which measures spinal instability based on spine motion analysis.

3. Mr. Wagner has previous spine industry experience; he served at CTO of Spinal Concepts, a spinal implant company he co-founded in 1996. Abbott Laboratories acquired Spinal Concepts for $170 million in 2003.

4. Mr. Wagner led spinal implant company Flexuspine as CEO and CTO between 2007 and 2014. He is a named inventor on over 80 medical device patents, and serves as a business consultant and advisor to medical device startups and investor groups.
