1. Southwest Mississippi Regional recently decided to bring back its sports medicine program.
2. Dr. Bonds, a doctor of physical therapy, will coordinate services at the medical center.
3. The hospital plans to cover all sporting events in Pike County, Miss., this fall with plans to expand into the surrounding areas as the program continues to grow.
Dr. Bonds commented on the appointment, saying, “The future plan is to have certified athletic trainers involved in this since we already have our staff of a physical therapist and orthopedic surgeons who are willing and [excited] to participate in this.”
