Southern Utah University partners with Intermountain Healthcare for athletic training: 3 highlights

The sports medicine division of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare has entered a three-year agreement with Cedar City-based Southern Utah University’s athletic department, according to KCSG TV.

Here’s what you need to know:

 

1. With this agreement, Intermountain Healthcare will assign a certified athletic trainer to cover all of the university’s athletic events, including those on and off campus.

 

2. This contract brings four Intermountain Healthcare trainers to the university’s athletic staff.

 

3. Southern Utah University graduate assistants in sports medicine will be hired on a part-time basis, in an effort to support hands-on education.
