Southeast Athletic Trainers Association Honors Dr. Douglas Rouse

Douglas Rouse, MD, an orthopedic surgeon in Hattiesburg, Miss., was recently named the Jack C. Hughston, MD, Sportsmedicine Person of the Year by the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association, according to a Hattiesburg American news report.

Dr. Rouse practices with Southern Bone and Joint Specialists and organized the state’s first sports medicine program nearly three decades ago. He earned his medical degree at the University of Southern Mississippi and completed a fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine at Toronto Western Hospital in Ontario, Canada.
