South Dakota orthopedic surgeon to serve on AOSSM council

Nathan Skelley, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health, has been selected to serve on the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine council of delegates.

Three notes:

1. Representing South Dakota, Dr. Skelley will serve as an ambassador for sports medicine education, research, communication and fellowship for the next three years.

2. Dr. Skelley has been an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the Sanford-USD School of Medicine in Sioux Falls since February 2020. Prior to that, he practiced with Missouri Orthopaedic Institute in Columbia.

3. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His research interests include mobile technologies, tissue engineering and cartilage therapies.
