Somerset Medical Center Approved for Total Knee, Hip Replacement by Joint Commission

The Joint Commission awarded Somerset (N.J.) Medical Center’s Joint Surgery Institute with the Gold Seal of Approval for total knee and hip replacement surgery, according to NJ.com.

Somerset underwent on-site survey July 27 to become one of the state’s 17 institutions to receive Disease-Specific Care Certification.

The accreditation surveyor evaluated Somerset’s compliance with standards of care for patients and families, including infection prevention, control, leadership and medication management.
