Iannis Adamopoulos is assistant professor of rheumatology, allergy and clinical immunology at UC Davis and principle investigator for the Institute for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine. The funding will support research to define the role of leukotriene B4 in juvenile arthritis.
Dr. Adamopoulos previously discovered that the abnormal expression of the immune system cytokine interleukin 23 causes severe bone loss in mice and he has confirmed the same finding in human cells. He was the 2011 Arthritis National Research Foundation Scholar and Sontag Foundation Fellow.
