Nine U.S. senators are urging the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission to develop guidance for hospitals, physicians and others developing collaborative care models that could avert antitrust perils, according to a report by AHA News Now.
The report did not name the senators but added that Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) asked the Government Accountability Office to review federal and state laws and regulations that might impede providers from building collaborative care models.
Sen. Baucus’ letter asked that the GAO review be completed in 12 months.
