Senate Hearing on Concussion-Prevention Product Marketing to Call for New Standards

There will be a Senate committee hearing on the marketing on football helmets and other sports-related equipment designed to reduce the risk of concussions, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.

Some companies have been criticized for claiming the effectiveness of their products, which may be misleading. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) has introduced legislation that would allow nine months for the industry to create standards for addressing the concussion risks and needs of youth athletes, according to the report.
