The bill allows covered sports medicine professionals to treat athletes across state lines as long as they have an agreement with the team or athlete being treated. Clinicians may only provide services within their state of licensure’s scope of practice.
This clarification aims to eliminate the professional and financial risk sports medicine professionals may previously have put themselves in when treating injured athletes across state lines.
