Sen. Baucus States Needs to Fix Medicare’s Physician Payment Formula

Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) stated to fix Medicare’s current physician payment formula, which project steep payment cuts and may limit seniors’ access to care, according to a news release from the American Medical Association.

Sen. Baucus made his statements at the beginning of the committee mark-up of the Senate Finance healthcare reform legislation, according to the release. In his comments, he acknowledges that not enough was done to fix the Sustainable Growth Rate.
