Scripps Health expands minimally invasive robotic surgery program: 3 highlights

San Diego-basedScripps Health brought its minimally invasive robotic surgery program to Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (Calif.), according to the Del Mar Times.

Here are three highlights:

 

1. Scripps Encinitas installed the da Vinci Surgical System at its North County campus.

 

2. The robotic surgery system was able to be installed with gifts from LaVerne and Blaine Briggs of Carlsbad, Calif., the Marriott Daughters Foundation and other donors.

 

3. Scripps Health has completed 10,000 robotic procedures since its minimally invasive robotic surgery program launched 11 years ago.
