San Diego Chargers’ new head team physician is Dr. Tal David: 5 things to know

Orthopedic surgeon Tal David, MD, is the new head team physician for the San Diego Chargers, according to a report by The San Diego Union Tribune.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. David has partnered with UC San Diego Health to provide medical care for the Chargers. UC San Diego Health remains the official sports medicine provider and official health system of the Chargers.

 

2. Dr. David practices with SportsMed Surgery Associates in San Diego. He also performs procedures at Coast Surgery Center, also in San Diego. He previously served as a Chargers’ team physician.

 

3. In addition, he has served as a team physician for Anaheim Angels, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings.

 

4. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Association of North America.

 

5. Dr. David  completed a sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
