Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-Pa.) previously said she would urge a two-year “doc fix,” according to the report. If legislators do not agree to an SGR solution by March, physicians will experience a 27.4-percent cut to their Medicare payments.
House Energy and Commerce Committee member Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) said Republicans members indicated they may not meet to discuss the SGR and other economic benefits legislation before Jan. 18.
