Reds’ Medical Director Dr. Timothy Kremchek to perform Tommy John surgery on pitcher: 4 things to know

Timothy Kremchek, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on Cincinnati Reds’ relief pitcher Drew Storen, according to Cinicnnati.com.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. Kremchek will treat Mr. Storen’s ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

 

2. Dr. Kremchek has served as the Reds’ medical director since 1996.

 

3. Mr. Storen will probably be in rehab for a year, meaning he will miss all of the 2018 season.

 

4. Dr. Kremchek completed his sport medicine fellowship at Birmingham, Ala.-based American Sports Medicine Institute.
