Philip F. Stahel, MD (Denver Health). Dr. Stahel is the director of service in the department of orthopedics at Denver Health. He has a special interest in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, patient safety in spine surgery and providing patient-centered care. He is a professor of orthopedics and neurosurgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and has been a visiting professor in Switzerland and Germany, among other countries.
Dr. Stahel is on the faculty and an instructor for the AO North America Musculoskeletal Trauma Education Committee. He received the Annual Patient Safety Award from the Colorado Patient Safety Coalition in 2010 and has been featured among the Best Doctors for Executives in the ColoradoBiz Magazine.
Dr. Stahel earned his medical degree at the University of Zurich in Switzerland and completed his residency in trauma at the University Hospital Zurich. His additional training includes a trauma fellowship in the department of trauma and reconstructive surgery at Charite University Medical Center in Germany.
