The petition is attempting to get 25,000 signatures by Nov. 4, 2011. It currently has just under 2,000. The petition maintains that “numerous studies” have shown the treatment “very effective” in treating pain patients with type II diabetes, reflux, asthma, post-stroke, chronic pain, insomnia, shingles and hot flashes, among others.
